Decoupage on Porcelain

Many porcelain products are ideal for decorating with transparent decoupage paper, tissue paper, napkins etc. For good adhesion use decoupage lacquer for glass and porcelain which, after being fixed in the oven, can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

1 Apply decoupage lacquer for glass and porcelain with a brush. Attach small paper cut-outs on top of the decoupage lacquer. Smooth with the brush from the middle and outwards to avoid air bubbles. Leave to dry.
2 Fix the decorated porcelain item in the oven (not a fan oven) at 160°C for 30 minutes to toughen the surface so that it may be wiped with a damp cloth.
3 A TIP: Decoupage on porcelain is most successful with thin types of paper, such as tissue paper, transparent decoupage paper as well as napkins (using only the top layer of the napkin).
